Description sent by the project team. The design challenge was launched by taking advantage of an existing 71′ by 18′ linear block located in the market complex of the modernist city of Chandigarh. SHOP NO. 851 becomes the voice that highlights the product sold by the retailer, who deals with laminates and plywood, and tells the story of the traditional relationship between the craftsman and wood. The result is an instantly poetic composition: a “spatial matrix”, made up of evocative wooden ribbons, which twist and turn within the space, almost as if they had autonomy.
